  • عمل ميزانية لكل نوع علاج ومصاريفه وتكلفته الفعلية، ومدة بقاء المريض في المستشفى، لتحديد الاستخدام الأمثل للموارد.

  • قياس الكفاءة الخاصة بكل نوع علاج، لخفض الفاقد منه وبالتالي خفض التكلفة.

  • متابعة وتحليل البيانات الخاصة بالخدمات الإنتاجية أو الخدمات التي يقدمها المستشفى بأجر، ووضع الأسعار الخاصة بها لمعرفة إن كانت هذه الخدمات تغطي تكلفتها وتحقق دخلًا فعليًا للمستشفى.

  • تقييم الأجهزة الجديدة لتحديد ما إذا كانت ستحقق القيمة المرجوة ومنها، وهي زيادة نسب الشفاء، وتسهيل سبل رعاية المريض أم أن تكلفتها أكبر من فائدتها.
