Within its continuous pursuit to ensure a high level of food safety for our children, the nutrition department of Hospital 57357, Tanta branch, received the golden certificate for applying food safety and management systems, for the fourth consequent time, from United Registrar System URS EGYPT.
URS EGYPT is an independent accreditation organization that works in more than 30 counties, and follows the British accreditation organization, UKAS.
URS EGYPT was founded in 2005, and UKAS granted it the authority to monitor the ISO quality standard for kitchens that follow food safety measures.
57357 Tanta’s nutrition department received the golden certificate for applying food safety standards and for the cleanliness of the place and tools in use, as well as the infection control system they follow, the quality of food origins and the refrigeration system.
Chatting with Dr. Ahmed Dewidar, 57357 Tanta’s food safety specialist, he revealed:
Proper nutrition is an important part of the treatment of children with cancer, hence there is periodic revision of the kitchen and continuous communication with the work team, to record all stages of work to avoid mistakes at any stage.
Children’s desires are taken into account every day, and their meals are prepared to suit their health condition. Their evaluations and feedback on meals are revised to ensure that each child would look forward to his next meal.
57357 Tanta’s kitchen was established in 2015, and it undergoes continuous renewal and upgrading of its equipment to reach best quality meals that are served according to quality standards. After obtaining the golden certificate for the fourth time, we will work hard to obtain the platinum one soon, so we keep following highest food safety standards.
