Nursing Pediatric Critical Care 2023

This course focuses on essential knowledge and skills to perform effectively and efficiently in the critical care discipline.

It will enable the nurses to build capabilities and competencies required for specific treatment plans of caring for critical illnesses including care planning, health education and follow-up.

This course aims as well to make nurses proficient in the specialized area of critical care where interested nurses can enhance their skills and knowledge and make a career for themselves in this discipline.

By the end of this training participant will be able to:

1. Identify specific knowledge related to nursing, pharmacology, and medical care to understand physiological and psychosocial responses to critical health disruptions.
2. Develop a system to evaluate health status, identify responses to critical health disruptions, and define learning needs of critically ill patients and their families.
3. Integrate knowledge from nursing and other disciplines to formulate nursing intervention strategies for patients experiencing critical health disruptions.
4. Help the staff in providing high quality nursing care.
5. Evaluate the value of collaboration in the care of the critically ill, and those with system specific disorders.
6. Reflect on legal and ethical issues related to critical nursing.

Postgraduate staff nurses (diploma & baccalaureate) who are interested in working in critical areas.
