Hospital 57357 welcomed a delegation from Deraya University headed by the university president for environmental and societal affairs, and representatives of various faculties to activate the memorandum of understanding signed in last June. The memorandum of understanding stipulates the transfer of knowledge and skills through the provision of educational programs and courses for students selected by Deraya University, and the mutual cooperation between the University’s experts and those of 57357 in the fields of research, education and training.
The visit included a tour of the pharmacy, the out-patient clinics, the day care and the sixth floor to get acquainted with the quality services provided by the Hospital. A meeting with Dr. Norhan Alprince from the continuous learning and development department introduced the visitors to the available educational courses. Dr. Sara Mohamed, deputy director of the 57357’s pharmacy, presented a detailed explanation about the different pharmacy sections. In a meeting with the representatives of the 57357 foundation’s universities outreach department, they agreed to start activating the cooperation by providing training for 300 Deraya University students (100 from the faculty of dentistry, 100 from pharmacy, and100 from physiotherapy). Moreover Deraya agreed to offer scholarships to school graduates among 57357 patients.
It is noteworthy that Deraya is a private University located in New Elmenya city and established in 2010. It includes 10 different faculties and is under the supervision of the ministry of high education. The cooperation with Deraya University is an initiative of the universities outreach department to enable exchange of expertise in research, education and training.
