Under the slogan “from a generation to the other”, Hospital 57357 celebrated the international volunteer day, in attendance of Ms. Lamis Negm, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Ayman Abdel Mawgoud, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity, Ms. Sohair Abdel Kader, President of “Awladna” Association for gifted children, Ms. Nadia Husny, Secretary General of the Commercial International Bank, CIB, Ms. Nermin Shehab, Head of the Marketing and Community Development Department at the National Bank of Egypt, Ms. Mena Hamouda, Head of Community Development Department, Suez Canal Bank, Ms. Rafeda Askar, Director of Modern School of Egypt 2000, MSE, Ms. Maha Alkadi, representative of Ramsis Hilton Hotel, Mr. Mahmoud Bakry, Member of the Fatwa Committee, Al-Azhar, Bishop Armia’s Deputy & Head of the Coptic Cultural Center, the representatives of Credit Agricole Bank, and the artists, Nour Kadri, Khaled Elsayes, Sayed Alhusieny and Emad Kamal. The guests were welcomed by 57357 Group CEO and a group of Hospital management members along with a large number of volunteers.
The purpose of the celebration is to express gratitude to our volunteers and charity partners including different companies and institutions for their continuous effort and contributions to support 57357’s children’s treatment journey and the Hospital’s provision of best quality care to children with cancer free of charge. Dina Ali, head of volunteers department, thanked volunteers for the services they offer to the Hospital and its children through 14 different activities. Mrs. Ali shared that over the years, volunteers’ efforts contributed to supporting 57357’s children morally, to overcome their psychological crises, which contributed to their response to treatment. She reviewed the volunteers’ efforts statistics, where more than 22 thousand volunteers participated in bringing support to our children.
Addressing the audience, the Hospital’s General Manager expressed his pride with the volunteers and his appreciation of their efforts which constitute an important side of the care offered to our children. He also thanked Egypt’s churches and Al-Azhar, for their continuous support to our children, and expressed his gratitude to all the institutions that remain committed to extending support to 57357 during crises and difficult circumstances
“57357 is a great Hospital that serves our children, and we all support it”, said Mr. Ayman Abdel Mawgoud, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity, He thanked all those who support the Hospital and affirmed that the Ministry of Social Solidarity is a main partner to non-profit organizations, in supporting volunteering work and is helping all those qualified to offer more volunteering efforts.
Othman Mohamed, one of the Hospital’s volunteers told the story of his brother Amr who was a patient in the Hospital. He spoke about the superior quality care that saved his brother’s life along with the psychological care he received, specially through the efforts of volunteers who were instrumental in supporting him morally until he recovered.
The celebration included artistic activities by “Awladna” institution’s choir along with 57357 children’s choir, a Russian ballet show, and a play presented by volunteers and one of 57357’s patients, about volunteering and volunteers’ role in supporting the Hospital’s children.
At the end of the celebration, outstanding volunteers in each of the volunteering activities were honored by offering them certificates of appreciation. Also, all the banks, hotels and institutions that supported volunteering work were honored.
