Lamar is one of 57357’s champs. Her radiant smile reflects a strong determination to overcome the disease, endurance, and hope for cure. Our hero is 9 years old. She was admitted to Hospital 57357 in 2018 and was diagnosed with brain tumor which caused her to lose her eyesight. Due to the critical location of the tumor, no surgery was possible to remove it. As such Lamar went through chemo and radiotherapy for 2 years. Her condition improved and she recovered eyesight.Unfortunately, she relapsed 5 months ago. Our champ started a second treatment journey where she completed 5 chemo sessions while waiting for a bone marrow transplant. Despite this great challenge, her beautiful smile never leaves her as she has high hopes of recovery (God Willing). Lamar’s Mom: I never expected such good care that we receive at Hospital 57357. The most painful experience for a mother or a father is to feel helpless and unable to rescue their child from this deadly disease as the cost of treatment is terribly expensive. As such, Hospital 57357 which provides quality comprehensive care free of charge is a great blessing and a lifeline to all our children with cancer. Not only is this hospital treating our children but it is also upgrading and improving its performance and equipment day by day. Any donation or contribution to the Hospital really makes a difference in sustaining our children’s treatment journey. When we spoke with Lamar, she shared the following: I love this hospital because they let me draw and color and take part in plays. Also, I get to sing at the recreation center. Here, they all love me dearly. I have to be surrounded by my friends in 57357 to enjoy playing. When I am older, I want to be a vet because I love cats and I want to be able to cure them when they fall sick. Stand by Lamar and all the other children that are battling a fierce disease. They need all the support they can get!
