Hospital 57357’s delegation participated in the annual meeting of the Saudi International Pharmaceutical Conference & Workshop SIPHA which was held in Riad, Saudi Arabia, during the period from January 22 to 24, 2024. This year the conference presented pharmaceutical research projects, to encourage pharmacists and pharmacy students to expose their innovative work. The conference was held in attendance of the head of Saudi pharmacists, with the participation of Saudi universities, and faculties of Pharmacy of Egypt, Emirates and Qatar. Attending from Hospital 57357 were Dr. Sali Fekry, head of 57357’s resident pharmacy program, Dr. Ahmad Anwar, head of 57357’s pharmaceutical education, and Dr. Salwa Sayed, head of the pharmacy’s decision making unit.
The Hospital’s participation included presenting a lecture to share experiences regarding the resident pharmacist program which is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, ASHP, to prepare qualified pharmaceutical cadres. The Hospital also presented a study by 57357’s clinical pharmacy that is published in Nature scientific magazine about the negative effect of the Corona pandemic on mental health of 66% of healthcare employees.
The conference is considered a good platform for sharing and exchanging new experiences with other hospitals and universities through the resident pharmacist program. During the conference, the Hospital’s delegation was eager to inform the participants about the training programs offered by 57357, to raise the qualifications of professionals through the Hospital’s continuous education and development administration.
At the end of the conference, Hospital 57357 was honored for its leading role in advancing clinical pharmacy in Egypt, and its humanitarian role of offering quality care to children with cancer for free.
