In attendance of a group of specialists in the field of infection control from different countries of the world, Hospital 57357 organized a celebration on May, 13th entitled “Global infection control day” on the occasion of the graduation of a new cohort from the infection control training program, which is set-up annually in cooperation with St. Jude global school center for pediatrics.
The importance of this day reflects 57357’s commitment to support cooperation with international partners, introducing 57357 experiences in the field of infection control and applying global programs in the field.
This year the program witnesses the graduation of a new cohort that includes 25 trainees from Egypt, Africa, and east Mediterranean. Graduates obtain an accredited international certificate from the research academy of Hospital St. Jude, after they complete their practical training in Hospital 57357.
This international training program is set-up within an agreement that was initiated last year between St. Jude and the continuous education administration of Hospital 57357 according to which, 57357 becomes an accredited center for the program’s practical training.
The celebration was attended by Dr. Sherif Abouel Naga, 57357 Group CEO and the Hospital’s general manager. He welcomed the attendees and thanked them for coming. He also thanked St. Jude for the continuous cooperation with 57357 in different fields, especially infection control, through the training program. The celebration was also attended by a group of Hospital 57357’s specialists in different fields, and a group of infection control specialists from different countries around the world, who expressed pleasure for sharing in the event’s activities. The activities included round table discussions with St. Jude’s infection control experts, headed by Dr. Nagwa Khamis, head of 57357’s infection control department. Many questions were received from the trainees and the attendees. The celebration included a main session about 57357’s experience in applying the use of antibiotics.
Trainees from Egypt, Africa, Eastern Mediterranean participate in the program, which upon completion, enables them to establish infection control programs in their workplaces, said Dr. Manal Zamzam, head of 57357’s continuous education and development administration. The participation of 57357 in this program is considered an international recognition of its leading position in the field.
