Hamza, a 9-year-old boy from Cairo, was diagnosed with an eye muscle tumor in January 2021 and admitted to Hospital 57357. He underwent surgery to remove the tumor followed by chemotherapy. His treatment journey continued until November 2022, after which his doctor recommended follow-up appointments every 3 months, now extended to every 6 months.

Hamza’s mother recounted noticing a strange-looking lump around his eye. Following a consultation with an ophthalmologist and further tests, she was advised to take Hamza to 57357 immediately. The diagnosis came as a shock, especially when they were admitted and scheduled for surgery on the same day. The doctor explained that the tumor was dangerously close to the brain. Despite the initial shock, the hospital’s swift response in performing the surgery, providing treatment, and offering care reassured Hamza’s mother. She emphasized the free and humane treatment they received at 57357, which greatly eased her worries.

When asked about his New Year’s wish, Hamza expressed his desire to stay healthy and never fall ill again. He shared his dream of becoming an officer when he grows up.
