Together, we have so much to commemorate and to be thankful for : Our 73% over-all survival rate, our JCI quality accreditation, our effective and optimal management of long waiting lists and overall capacity, our collaboration with the most eminent cancer centers and academic training and research institutions, our constant pursuit of quality in performance and medical services, our progress in translational research, the renewal of diagnostic and treatment equipment arsenal, and finally, the multiple programs offered by the 57357 academy to usher in a new generation of professionals capable of operating change in the pediatric oncology and healthcare fields in Egypt.
We are grateful for your constant presence during Ramadan. Time and again, throughout the Holy Month, our Hospital hall was overcrowded with kind hearted and compassionate people from all walks of life who came to demonstrate their solidarity to our children with cancer: 8 blind girls meeting and coming on their own to offer a donation, a 15 year old boy with kidney failure and subject to regular dialysis who came to spend time with the children, the army captain who takes a one hour leave permission to make a donation to the hospital, and the youth, priests and bishops from 200 churches throughout Egypt who day in , day out, came to express their solidarity, offering donations, gifts, and donating blood.
We are blown away by your encouragement and your compassion and touched by your acts of kindness.
We are humbled by the number of loyal faithful supporters from within and outside Egypt who defend the Hospital, their hospital, against the customary false allegations in social media channels: School students, one-pound program donors in many firms, Berlenti Ali a former Canada immigrant back in Egypt. Naglaa Dwedar living in Dubai, Mohamed in the U.S., Nahlaa in Saudi Arabia, Omnia Salem in Spain.
We are hopeful that the future holds good health for our children because thanks to you we are able to look forward to the realization of our dream: to transform the Hospital into a Health Science Campus, enabling us to take in 80% of annual cancer cases in Egypt and offer them the hope in cure and a better quality of life after recovery. Much has been achieved during the past year to progress with the future expansion: We are speeding up construction works on site Phase 1 for the new out-patient facility and we have signed the agreement for the acquisition of the proton therapy with IBA, a leader in this type of safe radiotherapy.
Happy Eid to all our supporters. It has been a heartwarming Ramadan journey.
God Bless You all
