In attendance of medicine professors, public and private hospitals’ management, healthcare experts in Egypt, the JCI delegation along with sponsors of the second and first cohorts, Mrs. Somaia Abu Alenein and Mrs. Mona Armanious, Hospital 57357 celebrated the graduation of the second cohort of the JCI diploma that was named after the program’s sponsoring institution, the Abu Alenein charity organization. Fifty nine medical cadres trainees representing public, private, and university hospitals from six governorates have successfully completed their training to lead the development of quality healthcare in their hospitals.
The graduation of the second wave of trainees is a step on the road of 57357’s goal of disseminating knowledge and practice of quality, in preparation of a generation of well-trained healthcare specialists to lead the change in health services in Egypt and the surrounding region. This training diploma is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa. It was launched in cooperation with JCI and conducted by faculty and co-faculty from the USA and from Egypt. With the offering of this diploma, 57357 is paying back the society by contributing to the enhancement of healthcare services and the setting up of high quality standards.
The Hospital guests were welcomed by the executive director of the 57357 group and general manager of the Hospital, Dr. Abouel Naga, , 57357 group consultant for quality control, Dr. Aya Nassar and through a mobile call by Dr. Manal Zamzam, director of 57357 Academy for health sciences and a number of Hospital management members.
In a speech by the Hospital’s general manager, he welcomed the attendees, specially Mrs. Abu Alenein and Mrs. Armanious who was keen to attend the celebration. He spoke to the trainees saying: to build a good society and a bright future for our children, we should commit to high quality standards in everything in our lives. He asked them to work hard to lead real change in their hospitals. He also thanked the Abu Aleinein institution for their continuous support to the development of healthcare in Egypt represented by years of backing to the National Cancer Institute and other hospitals, and also for their strong belief in relying on education and research to develop healthcare to the level that Egyptians deserve.
Mrs. Abu Alenein addressed the audience with these words: the success we are celebrating today is a result of devotion and dedication to work. We wanted to take part in transferring the knowledge and experience of 57357 to all of Egypt’s hospitals in order to take part in the development of quality healthcare in Egypt She asked the graduates to exert all effort in applying the knowledge and training they receive for the welfare that Egypt deserves.
On behalf of Ms. Paula Wilson, president of JCI, the JCI managing director of ME office, Dr. Ashraf Ismail addressed the audience to congratulate the second wave of trainees and to affirm that the cooperation between JCI and Hospital 57357 is a unique example for dedication and commitment to high standards. “Through education, 57357 is investing in brains to achieve considerable change in healthcare services, and Abu Elenein institution’s support represents a unique form of societal collaboration, he added.
Dr. Kathryn K. Leonhardt, program director and JCI’s principal consultant shared the following: I am enthusiastic for working on the program since its beginnings in April 2018. The trainees worked hard to learn about quality control. She thanked her colleagues from JCI and from Egypt for their professional performance and added: I am delighted that eleven students’ projects were accepted in scientific conferences where the whole world will witness your efforts. I am confident that your efforts will result in major changes in healthcare services, she added.
At the end of the celebration 57357’s trophy was handed to Mrs. Abu Alenein as representative of the institution.
The 57357 group, the Association of Friends of the National Cancer-free Initiative, AFNCI and Egypt’s Cancer Network, ECN save no effort to support the development of quality healthcare in Egypt through programs such as the JCI’s quality management and patient safety diploma.
