Pursing to spread education and prepare a well-trained generation of specialists to enhance the healthcare quality in Egypt, Hospital 57357 celebrated the graduation of the third cohort of the management & patient safety certificate program. The celebration was attended by a group of healthcare leaders and specialists, headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Elmatiny, the president of Ain Shams University and former dean of the faculty of medicine, Prof. Dr. Deyaa Zain El-Abedin, the dean of dentistry faculty, Ain Shams University and Dr. Wasim Elsisi, urology surgeries professor and researcher in Egypt’s history. Through video conference, Dr. Kathryn K. Leonhard, JCI consultant participated in the celebration. From 57357,Dr. Sherif Abouel Naga, the executive director of the 57357 group, Prof. Dr. Manal Zamzam head of continuous learning and development in 57357 and Hospital management attended the celebration.
41 trainees representing the third cohort celebrated graduation of the program that aims to prepare cadres in Egypt’s hospitals capable of enabling their hospitals to reach JCI accreditation quality standards . It is noteworthy that the first cohort started in 2017, and graduated in 2018, while the second cohort known as Abu Eleinien institution’s cohort, graduated in February 2019.
Dr. Shymaa Almenyawi, head of quality control in 57357, expressed her happiness with the third cohort graduation, despite all the challenges it faced because of the Corona pandemic. Through 52 projects conducted by students, efforts were exerted to maintain utmost benefit and exchange experiences to raise trainees’ qualifications and achieve the desired goal which is preparing well-trained cadres to provide world quality healthcare and put patient safety at the core of all health procedures.
Through video conference, Dr. Leonhard thanked all the students, and stressed on the fact that all parties aim to prepare a new generation of professional cadres. Despite the corona pandemic, working through zoom and depending on simulation to perform the training was quite effective.”You have done a good job to disseminate principles of quality healthcare throughout Egypt”, said Dr. Leonhard.
Dr. Elsisi congratulated students for obtaining this distinct certificate that represents renaissance for healthcare in Egypt.
As for Dr. Zamzam , she congratulated students saying :our celebration today is not restricted to the cohort graduation, but also the outcome of the cooperation between different entities in order to make real change in healthcare in Egypt. She thanked all the program supporters and donors who exerted their best to enable the provision of the training. The third cohort was sponsored by smart villages development and management company, Mustafa Ahmed Khalil, Golden pyramids Plaza Company, Dr. Mohamed Saeed Elhalfawi, Kimit Medical Company, Mr. Usama Ibrahim Tantawi, Mr. Naser Albrence, Mrs Somaia Abu Eleinien, and Dr. Emad Shalash. We promise to continue the hard work and exert all efforts to raise healthcare levels in Egypt, added Dr. Zamzam. She thanked the Association of Friends of the National Cancer-free Initiative, AFNCI and the Egyptian Cancer Network, ECN-USA and the 57357 Foundation for saving no effort to support healthcare quality and patient safety in Egypt through their support for the JCI program.
In his speech, the executive director of the 57357 group expressed delight with the graduation of more cadres which is a step to contribute to improving healthcare in Egypt. Recalling 57357’s mission, he asserted that research and smart education are the most important pillars the Hospital relies on. “We are committed to alleviating the suffering of patients for free, this is our mission and goal. The Corona pandemic was a big challenge that we faced with courage. We didn’t stop the provision of quality care and accepting new patients while taking precautionary measures in the Hospital, and thanks be to God we realized a higher rate of recovery despite the pandemic, shared the executive director.
