Over four days, Hospital 57357 celebrated world pharmacist’s day 2021 where the event featured lectures and workshops in the Hospital premises. More than 55 of the most experienced in clinical pharmacy field from around the world attended the celebration. The celebration aims to spread awareness about the important role of the pharmacist r in the community and the healthcare system, and discuss latest findings in the pharmacy field.
Under the patronage of the EDA, the celebration was attended by a group of experts in the pharmacy field, universities presidents, Mr. Dan Begot, managing director of Univar group in England, and through zoom Dr. Kira Franson, one of the Pharm D program trainers. The celebration drew the attention of the media as it was covered by a number of TV. Channels. Attending the celebration from 57357 were the Hospital’s General Manager and Executive Director of 57357 group, Prof. Dr. Manal Zamzam, head of the continuous learning and development, Dr. Sherif Kamal head of 57357’s clinical pharmacy and a group of pharmacists and specialists from inside and outside the Hospital.
The Hospital’s General Manager welcomed attendees on behalf of 57357’s board of trusties, and expressed his pleasure for the holding of the celebration for the third consecutive year in Hospital 57357. He stressed that in 57357’s clinical pharmacy, they exert utmost efforts to practically apply theories through relying on scientific and evidence based studies. He thanked the Hospital’s pharmacists for their efforts in setting up the COVID clinic.
Dr. Kamal Sabra, the founder of clinical pharmacy in Ireland and former Egyptian Minister of health’s assistant for pharmacy affairs, thanked the Hospital for the efforts exerted in developing clinical pharmacy. He shared his research about the trust the pharmacist enjoys in the community based on the experience of the fight against the Corona virus.
Dr. Ayman Alkhatib, Vice President of EDA, praised 57357’s efforts in the clinical pharmacy field and gave a detailed presentation about EDA and its goals.
The head of clinical pharmacy in 57357 reviews the most important achievements of last year
Dr. Sherif Kamal, supervisor general , 57357’s pharmaceutical services and head of clinical pharmacy, reviewed the most important achievements of the pharmacy department namely the application of the career ladder in 57357’s pharmacy, which was approved by the Hospital management. He stated that their most important achievement is the patient’s trust. He invited all the pharmacists to cooperate with EDA to build a circle of trust regarding dealing with medications, to raise the level of healthcare in Egypt.
Celebrating the cohorts graduation and honoring outstanding pharmacists
For the graduation of the first cohort of Pharm D program and the second and third cohorts of the resident pharmacist program, the graduates were given graduation certificates. Trophies were presented to three winners: Dr. Sabra’s prize for clinical pharmacy research won by Dr. Ahmed Alnoubi from the University of Modern Science and Arts, MSA, Ms. Iman Sadek Ghabour’s prize who is one of the first supporters for the establishment of clinical pharmacy and funding the Pharm D training program, won by Dr. Ahmed Alsokary from Kafr Alsheikh, for his distinction in clinical pharmacy training, and Mr. Mohamed Moheb’s prize won by Dr. Rola Darweesh from Jordan for excellence in the training program. 9 honoring trophies were presented to outstanding pharmacists in 57357, Cairo and Tanta branches. A group of pharmacists from different entities who received training in 57357 were also honored.

The Hospital’s general manager signed 3 cooperation protocols in the fields of training and scientific exchange between 57357 and Al-Ahram Canadian University, in attendance of Dr. Sedeeq Abdel Salam, the university president, Al-Alamain University in attendance of Dr. Khadija Ahmed Ismaeil, dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Hertfordshire University in attendance of Dr. Vincent Iminy, the university president.
At the end of the celebration a nice surprise awaited the attendees: a show of talents by the pharmacists to proof that scientific distinction does not contradict with having a talent outside the field such as drawing, singing or directing.
