40 new beds and PET/CT device to meet Delta area needs, Upgrading labs and pharmacy, increasing oncology and specialized clinics, and a unit for intermediate care accommodation.
Despite the decline in donations and the increased challenges that we face, our main goal in 57357 is to take good care of our children and to give them the best quality services.
Within the framework of increasing the capacity of Hospital 57357, Tanta branch, we are exerting maximum effort to complete this expansion and to upgrade all of the branch services to world standards as in the main branch.
According to Dr. Mohamed Fawzi, manager of 57357 Tanta branch, the project includes adding 1600 square meters to increase the branch capacity to serve the Delta area and northern governorates such as Alexandria and Damietta, and at the same time decrease the pressure on Cairo’s main branch.
The project includes adding 40 beds to the 60 bed in-patient section, some of them are for equipped rooms for isolation for cases with low immunity.
The intensive care department is increased from 4 to 10 beds, equipped with latest medical and artificial respiration devices and monitoring units. Moreover, the daycare capacity will increase by 40% so it can serve more than 200 patients daily.
The expansion also includes increasing the number of oncology clinics, and establishing specialized clinics in audiology and conjunctivitis, and offering high quality radiation services such as CT, nuclear medicine scanning and PET/CT, which will meet the needs of delta area patients without the need to move to Cairo.
Other expansion areas within the project include the setting up of a unit for intermediate care accommodation, where the patients can receive prolonged treatment without the need for inpatient accommodation, while receiving comfortable accommodation and complete medical care, which enables the hosting of more patients. Developing the service in emergency department and expanding labs and equipment to increase their services. Preparing rooms for preserving blood components. Redesigning the clinical pharmacy and equipping it with laminar flow devices for preparing chemotherapy and saving patient’s time. Offering a room for children’s activities and art therapy, to alleviate children’s pain during the treatment period, and developing children’s artistic skills which supports their response to treatment.
In the context of continuous education and training, the expansion includes lectures and training rooms for employees and medical sector students namely doctors, pharmacists and nurses. This is in addition to rooms for meetings, research and administration offices, with a plan for developing and expanding doctors and technicians residence with an attached cafeteria for employees.
