In attendance of a group of specialists in the field of infection control from different countries of the world, Hospital 57357 organizes a celebration on May, 13th on the occasion of the graduation of a new cohort from the infection control training program, which is set-up annually in cooperation with St. Jude global school center for pediatrics.

The importance of this day reflects 57357’s commitment to support cooperation with international partners, introducing 57357 experiences in the field of infection control and applying global programs in the field.

This year the program witnesses the graduation of a new cohort that includes 25 trainees from Egypt, Africa, and eastern Mediterranean. Graduates obtain an accredited international certificate from the research academy of Hospital St. Jude’s research academy after they complete their practical training in Hospital 57357.

This international training program is set-up within an agreement that was initiated last year between St. Jude and the continuous education administration of Hospital 57357 according to which, 57357 becomes an accredited center for the program’s practical training.

The program includes a theoretical part (online) besides the practical part in Hospital 57357, said Dr. Nagwa Khamis, head of the infection control department. She affirms that 57357 is selected because it is able to meet all practical training requirements in its labs, intensive care, inpatient department besides a world level staff of experts. This year, the celebration includes a main session about 57357’s experience in applying the use of antibiotics, and specialized sessions in infection control, added Dr. Khamis.

Trainees from Egypt, Africa, Eastern Mediterranean participate in the program, which upon completion, enables them to establish infection control programs in their workplaces, said Dr. Manal Zamzam, head of 57357’s continuous education and development administration. The participation of 57357 in this program is considered an international recognition of its leading position in the field.
