Laila, our 7-year-old fighter, from Shibin El Qanater – Qalyubia, is a great example of strength and patience in the face of illness. She entered Hospital 57357 in June 2023 and was diagnosed with cancer in the right lobe of her liver. This was the beginning of a long and difficult journey with treatment. Laila began receiving 6 chemotherapy sessions, then underwent surgery to remove the tumor from her liver. Afterward, she received 4 more chemotherapy sessions. Her follow-up tests showed significant progress and improvement in her condition. Her liver even began to grow again, and her condition became good. She started the follow-up phase in June 2024, but in September of the same year, follow-up reports showed a recurrence of the disease, this time in the lung. Doctors decided she would receive two chemotherapy sessions, followed by surgery to remove the tumor from her lung in December 2024. They decided she would receive two chemotherapy sessions. She received one, and now she is receiving the second session at 57357 and is following up with the doctors.
Laila’s mother says: “I pray to God to heal Laila and everyone like her. I have seen a year and a half of the most difficult years of my life since her illness, but Hospital 57357 has made things much easier for us. Her entire treatment is free of charge. They eased my burden as they took care with great compassion of my daughter and us—care beyond description, cleanliness, and follow-up on Laila’s case as if she were their own daughter. They give me hope that she can recover from this malignant disease, and Dr. Azza, her treating doctor, and all the doctors are always with us, step by step.
Laila is not only a fighter in her battle against cancer, but she also has a big dream to become a doctor at 57357 so she can help children just like the doctors helped her.
