A workshop about clinical pharmacy was held in Hospital 57357, in cooperation between the Faculty of Pharmacy, Delta University and Hospital 57357’s continuous education administration. A large group of students met with Dr. Ahmed Anwar, head of clinical pharmacy’s education unit, where he discussed with them the effective role of the clinical pharmacist during the treatment journey of children with cancer.

The students were delighted with the workshop which gave them valuable information about the role of the clinical pharmacist with respect to treatment and drug information. Yomna Maher, a 5th year student of pharmacy reveals: “I have really benefited from this workshop which exposed the role of the clinical pharmacist and the different applications of clinical pharmacy in Hospital 57357. Now I know that the role of the pharmacist is not limited to giving medication. In collaboration with other specialists, the pharmacist can contribute to tailoring the suitable kind of medication to each and every patient.”

“Thanks to the workshop, we now know more about the different sections of clinical pharmacy, the role of the clinical pharmacist and the expert in drug information as well as how to assess and evaluate a variety of information”, said Ahmed Mohamed, a 4th year student.

Chatting with Dr. Haydi Sami, Professor of clinical pharmacy and head of data center, Delta University, she reveals: “We were very pleased to visit Hospital 57357 and to participate in the workshop as a side activity to our curriculum course titled” drug information”. This was made possible thanks to the coordination of 57357 continuous education and development department and its clinical pharmacy education unit.  Workshop participants composed of students and organizers totaled 98. We are looking forward to organizing more workshops in the very near future.”
