What is expected daily during your stay in the inpatient department?
- Vital signs are measured every 6 hours by a specialized nurse (temperature, blood pressure, respiratory rate, heart rate) at the following times (6 am, 12 am, 6 pm, and 12 pm); nurses might need to measure vital signs in other times to follow up on patient’s latest developments.
- During the patient’s stay in the inpatient department, the nurses may examine the child occasionally, take blood samples for lab tests, and follow up on receiving treatment medications for the patient.
- During the administration of chemotherapy, the patient’s diaper is examined and weighed periodically by nurses, and it may be changed every two hours if medically required.
- The patient is weighed twice a week or per the physician’s recommendation.
- Daily showers are provided for the patient and companion to maintain personal hygiene and patient safety. As for your child, the specialized nurse will tell you about the suitable shower liquid (water and soap or cereal), and sheets should be changed daily to avoid infection.

General guidelines that should be followed during stay in the inpatient department
- Washing hands using water and soap or alcohol disinfectant when entering or leaving the patient’s room.
- The patient wears a mask if he is outside the room.
- The patient’s companion should always accompany the patient and never leave him during his stay in the Hospital.
- The companion of an inpatient should never visit another patient in another room and patients coming for out-patient clinics should never visit patients kept in the inpatient department.
- The patient’s companion should be above 18 years.
- The patient’s companion should not sit or sleep on the patient’s bed to prevent the spread of germs in the patient’s surrounding environment.
- When kept in the inpatient department, you should not bring or possess any electrical appliances, ignition sources, or harmful objects (this includes electrical heater, kettle, lighter, matches, knives)
- Bring all patient’s care and personal belongings such as (diapers, personal scrubber, toothbrush, toothpaste, napkins).
- Informing medical service providers about any warning signs related to medical devices belonging to the patient.
- To preserve patient’s safety no food from outside the Hospital should be brought in, only personal drinks are allowed (tea sachets, anise sachets, sugar sachets).
- No food should be kept in the room for more than 2 hours to preserve the patient’s environment and prevent the spread of germs.
- Follow the Hospital regulations for visits and utility switches during the hospitalization period.
- Taking a medical paper from the patient’s file is prohibited without an official permit from the Hospital administration.
- Preserve appliances and furniture in the room and do not cause any damage to the contents of the room.
- Follow the Hospital regulations regarding visiting times and utility switches during hospitalization.
- In case the companion is not the legal guardian, the legal guardian should come to sign the patient’s affidavits.
