Dr Altaf is the program director of the Pediatric Hematology Oncology fellowship at her institute. She is also the chair of Career counselling and electives office of the Medical school at her university. She is passionate about education and mentoring of trainees. Medical students under her guidance have provided support with child life activities in her hospital due to lack of an established Childlife service infrastructure in the developing world. Dr Altaf was recently appointed to be the co-chair of Pediatric Oncology for Developing Countries (PODC) supportive care working group. Her vision is to engage physicians in low middle income countries (LMIC) to be connected with mentors in high income countries providing intellectual support to improve care of children suffering from cancers.
