The course represents an intensivetraining course that targets infection control professionals. The course combines lectures, practical training in the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) lab in addition to rounds in various hospital departments.  Upon completion of the training, participants will receive Professional Certificate of completion of “Intensive IPC” training course.

The goal of the course is to enhance the knowledge and skills of IPC professionals through introducing them to a leading system in IPC, CCHE 57357 . The training allows participants to strengthen and sustain IPC competencies; raise the knowledge and skills for use of IPC guidelines; develop and adopt best IPC practices; promote and advocate for increased awareness of healthcare-associated infections as well as;  actively participate and collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance IPC at all levels.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Know the elements of a successful IPC system.
  • Understand all the components of a standard IPC program.
  • Conduct surveillance in reference to update CDC criteria.
  • Detect, investigate and manage an outbreak then take proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify the importance of “Hospital Support Departments” and their role in infection prevention and control.

Acquire highly specialized skills of IPC lab for both environmental and patient safety.
