Environmental and Facility Safety in healthcare facilities
Overview
This program is designed to give in-depth hands-on application on Facility Management System and safety which is designed to equip trainee with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive system for ensuring the safety, security, and efficiency of a facility.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this training / course participants will be able to:
1– Identifying the FMS Framework:
I. Define and explain the components of an FMS.
II. Identify the relationship between various FMS plans (fire safety, general safety, security, HAZMAT, biomedical, utility, emergency preparedness, renovation & construction).
2- Developing FMS Plans:
I. Create a comprehensive risk assessment for a facility.
II. Develop FMS plans addressing fire safety, general safety, security, HAZMAT, biomedical, utility, emergency preparedness, and renovation & construction.
III. Select necessary resources for effective FMS implementation.
3- Executing FMS Plans:
I. Develop and implement effective communication strategies for FMS plans.
II. Create training programs for personnel on FMS procedures.
III. Generate monitoring and evaluation systems for FMS compliance.
4- Develop FMS Forms:
I. Design and create relevant FMS forms for incident reporting, hazard identification, inspections, training records, emergency contacts, equipment maintenance, and waste disposal.
5- Evaluate and Monitor FMS Plans:
I. Produce regular audits and inspections to assess FMS effectiveness.
II. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
III. Implement corrective actions based on evaluation findings.
6- Integrate Radiation and Lab Safety:
I. Combine radiation and laboratory safety protocols into the overall FMS.
II. Develop specific procedures for handling hazardous materials in laboratory settings.
7- Prepare for Accreditation:
I. Produce a gap analysis to identify areas for improvement in meeting accreditation standards.
II. Implement quality management systems to enhance FMS performance.
III. Develop documentation and procedures for accreditation readiness.
