This workshop introduces participants to core bioinformatics concepts and tools for analyzing genomic data. Over two days, attendees will learn to work with sequence formats (FASTA, FASTQ), explore various Bioinformatics databases, perform basic sequence alignments (BLAST), and develop foundational programming skills in Bash and R.

By the end of the basic track, participants will:
• Understand the core principles of bioinformatics, including sequence data formats (FASTA, FASTQ).
• Gain hands-on experience with simple sequence alignment tools (e.g., BLAST).
• Learn how to use basic tools for exploring genomic data.
• Develop basic scripting skills to automate repetitive tasks.
