In HMX Immunology, the student will learn about the processes that enable the immune systems to respond to evolving threats, and learn about new, immunology-based disease treatments. By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the fundamental mechanisms by which the immune system provides protection.
- Recognize how the knowledge of immunology has already impacted the understanding and treatment of a range of human disorders.
- Recognize how deficiencies, excesses, or mistargeting of immune responses contribute to disease.
- Infer the various ways immunology translates into clinical medicine.
