Health Economic Evidence Synthesis
Overview
This course aims to provide an understanding of the basic concepts of health economics and methods of health economic evaluation (including evaluating costs, health outcomes, and cost-effectiveness estimates), reflecting on evidence synthesis and critical appraisal of health economic evidence, with practical applied examples.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course participants will be able to:
• Understand basic concepts of health economics.
• Get to know the different types of health economic evaluation (evaluating costs, outcomes, cost-effectiveness analysis and interpretation)
• Learn about evidence synthesis tools in health economic evaluation and be able to review and critically appraise health economic evidence.
• Work through practical applied examples of different study designs.
• Understand how to use health economic evidence to inform healthcare decisions
