Hospital 57357 welcomed a delegation from Great Ormond Street Hospital in London (GOSH). Leading the delegation was Dr. Joe Brierley, a consultant in the pediatric intensive care unit, accompanied by a team of specialized nurses, Vicky Nash and Kathy Roberts. The visit aims to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in the field of training needs required to develop the current intensive care, to be utilized when developing the intensive care at 57357.
The delegation’s two-day visit was coordinated by the Continuing Education and Development Department at Hospital 57357. The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Moataz El-Zemaity, the hospital’s medical director, on behalf of Dr. Sherif Abuel Naga, 57357 Group CEO and the hospital’s general manager. Dr. El-Zemaity provided an overview of the hospital’s vision and objectives.
The esteemed guests’ visit included several meetings with all specialists at Hospital 57357. The delegation met with Dr. Manal Zamzam, Director of Continuing Education and Development at the hospital, the quality team, also met with the intensive care team, consisting of doctors and nurses. Discussions were exchanged regarding the development of the intensive care unit, and the delegation reviewed their experience at Gosh, which is considered a significant step towards strengthening future cooperation between the two parties. A live demonstration of a critical care emergency, known as a ‘code blue’, was conducted, reflecting both parties’ commitment to achieving the highest standards of safety in healthcare.
During their visit, the delegation members expressed great admiration for the technology used in the clinical pharmacy and the hospital in general. In addition, they visited the Art Therapy Recreation Center, where they met 57357’s children and were amazed by the psychological care provided by the hospital for the children. The delegation members indicated that they had visited numerous hospitals in the Middle East but had never witnessed such a high level of quality and innovation.
At the end of their two-day hospital visit, their recommendations and observations were very minimal, reflecting the high level of readiness for development of the intensive care unit at 57357. These observations indicate that the hospital is achieving a high level of quality in its service delivery.
The visit of the GOSH delegation to 57357 contributes to strengthening the relationship between the two hospitals and opens new horizons for future cooperation.
