National and private banks have been strong allies to Hospital 57357 throughout its journey, playing a vital role in securing the stability and sustainability of its operations. These include namely: the National Bank of Egypt, Commercial Int. Bank (CIB), Alexbank, HSBC, national Bank of Kuwait, Ahli bank of Kuwait, Credit Agricole, EG Bank, Misr Bank, Banque du Caire, Bloom Bank , Housing and development bank, National Emirates Dubai Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, United Bank, National United Bank, Faisal Islamic Bank, Egyptian Bank for export development, Egyptian Agricultural Bank and Al Baraka Bank.
Banks are supportive of 57357 in numerous ways through funding, volunteering programs, and staff blood donation drives. As a matter of fact, all the banks we are dealing with will donate the initial required amounts needed for opening accounts in favor of the Hospital. But most importantly, almost all the banks we have partnered with have a holistic approach to their support to the Hospital, involving both their staff and administration in various initiatives that would alleviate the suffering of the patient and families as well as sponsoring the constant up-grading of the quality of care provided to them by the Hospital. As such, thanks to the visionary National Bank of Egypt, we are able to set-up a world standard bio repository unit for collection, processing and storage of bio-specimens for research purposes. Moreover, without the farsightedness of Credit Agricole bank and their sponsorship of video-conferencing and streaming devices, we would not have been able to stream all our scientific sessions, conferences and meetings, sharing and diffusing valuable knowledge with the public. As for HSBC, both their administration and staff had a genuine concern to secure a bright future for our surviving patients. As such they sponsored in part the setting-up of 57357’s in-Hospital school where in-patients are offered all the school sessions they would have otherwise been missing due to their long hospitalization. In general, banks will be committed to supporting the Hospital on an on-going basis in certain ways such as: monetary donations, funding the cost of needed equipment, participation in the cost of decorating the Hospital on special occasions such as Ramadan and Christmas, sponsoring ad campaigns related to the Hospital, and the funding of special projects.
The first a/c ever to be opened for the collection of donations was with Banque du Caire, Alfy branch. The main digits of this account 57357 of a repetitive nature and of special resonance were easy to remember. So much so that prominent Media figure Tarek Nour suggested we stick it to the original name of the Hospital the” Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt-57357” and in this manner everyone would never forget the number of the A/C they should place their donations therein. Later the Hospital became known as Hospital 57357. It is noteworthy that the National Bank of Egypt NBE is one of the very first banks with which we opened accounts. Besides its on-going donations and its participation in a sadaka Garia or Naming opportunity program, the NBE contributed with a generous amount in funding the Hospital’s mega expansion project. It has been since the inception of the idea of the Hospital, one of the main sponsors of the Hospital’s multiple fundraising Marathons, encouraging its staff and their families to take part in them. There is an ATM machine for the bank inside 57357 premises.
Alexbank is a long-standing strategic partner of 57357. They support the Hospital through an array of activities including direct funding, volunteering programs, and staff blood donation drives. In 2017, they help fund a Dental Radiology Room . Alexbank staff donate to the Hospital on a monthly basis. in 2017 alone, staff donations reached 750,000 and it was used to support the Hospital’s Tanta branch with six new transport stretchers and beds. Alexbank is participating in a Sadaka Garia program and has invited the Hospital patients and families to take part in numerous events among which the Tunis handcrafts & Pottery Festival in 2017 and 2018.
As for the Commercial International Bank (CIB), this is the official staff remuneration bank, holding a branch and two ATM machines within the Hospital premises. Besides its yearly generous donation, the CIB is prompt to address the Hospital needs of very costly up graded and state of the art equipment such as the intra-operative MRI and the up-dated versions of the PET/CT scans. It also sponsored the Monitor up-grade project.
On behalf of all the Hospital and Foundation staff and administration, we express our profound gratitude to all the public and private banks in Egypt which have been staunch allies to Hospital 57357 throughout its journey!
