After a delicate brain tumor removal surgery for her daughter in 57357, Mecca’s mother shares: Mecca’s Piggy Bank is the least we can do to support 57357
After God blessed us with Mecca’s recovery, she asked to donate all the money in her piggy bank to hospital 57357, so they can treat other children like her
We also felt that we must do something for the hospital that stood by us and saved our daughter, without us paying a single penny.
We thought of the ‘Mecca Piggy Bank’ project, so we bought many piggy banks from the Hospital and distributed them to our family and friends, and we told them that 57357 needs all of our support, and Mecca started with her piggy bank, she bought these piggy banks to encourage everyone to save what they can, and go to the hospital to donate personally.
Thank God, everyone welcomed the idea, and many of them got used to visit the hospital every month, and present ‘Mecca’s piggy bank’, along with a small donation to contribute to the treatment of 57357’s children.
Mecca is 6 years old, she was born with Down syndrome, and months later, they discovered she had serious congenital heart defects, and she underwent open-heart surgery before she turned two. At the beginning of 2024, the parents received another shock when they discovered Mecca had a brain tumor that required delicate surgery. At that time, they were unable to do anything, but the pediatrician advised them to go to hospital 57357, which has a great success rate in brain tumor surgeries.
The mother told us:
As soon as Mecca was accepted into the hospital, we felt that God had lifted a great burden from us. The hospital took full responsibility for Mecca, conducting complete examinations, tests, and X-rays using the latest equipment, as well as providing accommodation and meals, all for free, without us having to pay a single penny. Within one week, Mecca underwent two surgeries. The first was to implant a valve, and the second was a delicate surgery to remove the tumor. After that, thank God, the pain disappeared, and we started the second phase of treatment, which is 33 radiotherapy sessions.
The treatment journey is long, but thank God, Mecca loves the hospital and lives a normal life there. After her radiation session, she goes to play, draw, and color with her friends in the art workshop. Despite having Down syndrome, she understands everything and it was she who asked to donate everything in her piggy bank to the hospital. We have decided to continue this idea with the “Mecca Piggy Bank” project, through which we encourage our family and friends to donate, as a simple act of gratitude to Hospital 57357.
Mecca’s treatment journey is still ongoing, and with her, many other children who need our support. Your donation, will not only contribute to the treatment of a sick child, but will also restore happiness to an entire family, and will return to you with happiness, as God has promised us
Those who spend their wealth [in Allah ‘s way] by night and by day, secretly and publicly – they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.
