Hospital 57357 was honored to welcome HE Ms. Fawzeya bent Abdullah Zainel, ambassador of Bahrain to Egypt and the permanent delegate at the Arab League. The visit falls within the framework of Bahrain’s support to Hospital 57357 which started since its inception as Bahrain was the first country to start a donation campaign outside Egypt to establish Hospital 57357.
As she toured the Hospital’s different sections, HE praised the outstanding care the Hospital offers, the latest equipment, the professionals’ expertise and their commitment to research work. She was delighted to find testimony of Bahrain’s support in the Hospital’s corridors, and a plaque on the main entrance in the name of the departed sheikh Eisa Ben Salman Al Khalifa in appreciation of the supporting role of the Bahraini kingdom which started since the first stages of the Hospital’s establishment. Also, the current King Hamad Ben Eisa Al Khalifa granted the Hospital the sheikh Eisa prize for services to humanity in 2017, in appreciation of the Hospital’s role in treating children with cancer.
The ambassador asserted the importance of boosting cooperation channels between the Kingdom and Egypt in the fields of research, training of cadres ,and medical experiences exchange through hospitals and academic institutions.
Dr. Sherif Abouel Naga, the Children’s Cancer Hospital CEO, shared and highlighted the efforts exerted to improve treatment methods, and research studies that were published in major medical journals. He expressed gratitude for the Kingdom’s support to the Hospital to enable it to pursue its social role and humanitarian mission towards children with cancer.
