Youssef, one of the heroes of 57357, is 7 years old. He started his treatment journey last April 2022. He was diagnosed with a lymphoma that compressed the spinal cord, affecting his ability to walk, and causing him pain in the legs. He started chemotherapy, and received three doses. The pain began to decrease, and his condition started to improve. Youssef’s mother says: “I used to hear about the hospital from advertisements, and we were all donating to it, me and my father, even Youssef who used to donate out of his saving box.
After the shocking news about my son’s illness, when I saw the hospital and the efforts they exert in caring for our children and all the services they provide for free, I realized how much the hospital and the children were in need of continuous support, as the treatment is very expensive, and only a handful can afford the treatment costs. I would like to say to all people: please, come and donate to the hospital; many children, including Youssef, my son, are waiting to complete their treatment journey, and without your support, they will not be able to realize their dreams of cure.”
Chatting with Youssef, he shared: “I was afraid at first, but now, all nursing team members are my friends and I love them. I spend my time after the chemo dose in the workshop, I love to paint and to draw, and by the way, I saw Ola Rushdi, she visited us as well as many artists and they played with us there. I will spend the Eid here in the hospital, I wish that you all come to visit me and pray for me to be cured so that I can grow up and become a police officer.”
