Pharmacy Short Courses in Collaboration with ACPE- SMART Pharmacy Education

The department of Outreach and Continuous Education cooperates with ACPE, recognized by the US Department of Education as the national agency for the accreditation of professional degree programs in pharmacy, in the delivery of Smart Pharmacy Education Program. The program has a strong impact on patient care as well as, personal motivation of pharmacists. The program addresses all aspects of pharmacists’ competency: knowledge, skills, attitudes and values. Implementation of the program entails the conduction of two workshops: Innovation Workshop that involves pharmacy profession leaders to set specific goals; followed by Train-the-Trainer workshops that aims at building local capacity and utilizing national tools for development.The outcome of the program comprises the establishment of a novel competency-based educational model for pharmacists in addition, to developing new patient services.
