Eugenia is a 9 years old fighter in Hospital 57357, from Alkhosous, Qalyoubeya. She was admitted to 57357 in July 2024, and was diagnosed with lymphoma. The chemotherapy journey began in the hospital, and after 6 months of treatment, the tests showed an excellent response. Dr. Maram, her treating consultant, decided that she would begin a monthly follow-up phase for 6 months, then the follow-up would generally continue for five years.
Eugenia spoke about her great love for the nursing staff and volunteers at the hospital, and said: ‘I love everyone at 57357, especially the nurses Mr. Karim, Mr. Amir, and Miss Naglaa, because they are always with me, they love me, and they let me play. Dr. Maram is my dear friend, and the volunteers’ visits used to ease my pain, especially when I was receiving treatment. The last time I was in the hospital before Eid, there was a visit from a church in Sharqia. They played with me, made me happy, we drew together, and they brightened my day.
When we asked her about her wish for the new year, Eugenia said: ‘I asked God that Eid would come while I wasn’t sick, and thank God, He answered me, and I was well, and I spent Eid at home, and the doctor told me that I’m fine now, and I will start the follow-up phase.’ She added: ‘My second wish for when I grow up is to be an artist.
As for Eugenia’s mother, she shared: ‘Hospital 57357 is a paradise. I never imagined that everything we see in the advertisements is real. I was scared when we first entered the hospital, but Dr. Maram was always reassuring me and giving me hope that my daughter would recover, God willing. “In fact, the compassionate care from everyone at the hospital eased a lot of my burden during my daughter’s treatment journey,” she added, “I thank everyone who donates to Hospital 57357, because they are the reason I found a place like this where I can treat my daughter with peace of mind. Praise be to God for everything they have done for my daughter.”
We wish Eugenia a happy new year filled with health and joy, and to all the children of Hospital 57357, a year full of hope and recovery.
