Under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Hospital 57357 hosted a ‘Tourism and Social Responsibility’ forum to mark World Tourism Day 2024. The forum aims to highlight the role of the tourism sector in supporting the hospital and its children, and to raise awareness of social responsibility.

The ceremony commenced with captivating pharaonic performances by folk dance troupes and enchanting music from military bands, creating a joyful and uplifting atmosphere for all our children. The forum began with a pharaonic procession carrying one of 57357’s heroes, the child Yamen, in celebration of his recovery.

The event was attended by a number of prominent figures, including Ms. Yomna El-Bahar, representing the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Mr. Sherif Fathi and Mr. Ayman Abdel Mawgoud representing Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, Ms. Sohair Mecki, Deputy Governor of Aswan. Also in attendance were the heads of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers, and the General Supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum, as well as the CEO of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, and a host of leaders from hotels, tourism companies, medical tourism companies, and airlines. Attending from 57357, were Prof. Dr. Sherif Abuel Naga, 57357 group CEO and the Hospital’s general manager, and a host of board members and hospital staff.

In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Abuel Naga expressed his gratitude to the attendees for their participation and support of the hospital. He emphasized that the hospital’s ongoing pursuit is to strive for continuous improvement. He highlighted the collaboration with airlines such as EgyptAir, the official carrier of knowledge and science for 57357, and Air Cairo. He emphasized the crucial role of their support in upholding scientific research, which enables the hospital to invite scientists from around the world to 57357 to exchange knowledge and expertise. Moreover, he showcased the latest therapeutic technologies at 57357, including CyberKnife and proton therapy.

The forum included a distinguished panel discussion focusing on the healthcare services provided by the hospital and the role of the tourism sector in supporting 57357. Participated in the discussion, Ms. El-Bahar, Mr. Abdel Mawgoud, and Dr. Abuel Naga. The discussions focused on the significance of medical tourism and its role in enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided. Ms. El-Bahar highlighted the Ministry of Tourism’s commitment to supporting Hospital 57357, emphasizing the ministry’s efforts to provide recreational activities for children and their families, thereby enhancing the treatment experience. She discussed the importance of raising awareness about medical tourism and its role in attracting tourists seeking high-quality healthcare services.

Meanwhile Mr. Abdel Mawgoud expressed the ministry’s appreciation for the unique model represented by Hospital 57357, emphasizing the need to strengthen cooperation between government agencies and the private sector to support health institutions. He also emphasized the importance of investing efforts in developing donation programs. Dr. Abuel Naga reviewed the efforts exerted by the hospital to provide comprehensive services, pointing out the importance of the support provided by tourism companies and hotels in this regard.

The forum concluded with the honoring of 44 hotels, 6 tourism companies, and 7 medical tourism companies in appreciation of their efforts in supporting 57357’s children. Additionally, the charitable endowment wall was unveiled, reflecting the tourism sector’s support for the hospital.
